Kelly & Joel are set to be married in Hawaii this coming November and here’s the “411” on what they’ve been up to so far!
Q: Where are you at in your wedding planning process?
A: Everything is done. We’ve chosen everything we wanted out of a
destination wedding, from the Wedding Planner, the cake, flights,
condos (which I booked with private condo owners through http://www.vrbo.com)
as well as the festivities (luau & after wedding dinner).
Q: Do you have any tips and/or advice for other destination brides?
A: Relax and have fun. Make a list of everything that you have always
wanted from a wedding. I.e., your hair, make-up, your dress (If you do the
research and find your dress, you might want to try eBay to find your dress
for a deal. Be sure to read the reviews . I found my dress for a fraction of the price!)
If you are planning a destination wedding, check out Google. You can find ideas on how your
wedding party should dress, research flowers, cake, colors, etc. Google wedding planners and
read reviews. See if you can contact previous clients of the wedding planner you are researching.
Once you choose one, start a dialogue with your planner with what your vision is and go from
there.
Q: What destination did you choose for your wedding and why?
A: We chose Maui, Hawaii because it is beautiful. I went there as a young girl and discovered
that it is my second favorite place in the world next to the West Coast of Vancouver Island, BC,
where I grew up. There are multiple beaches with fabulous backdrops for photo ops.
Best of all, everyone speaks English and my wedding planner is amazing!
Q: Which invitation did you select for your wedding?
A: We chose the plumeria wedding invitation because plumerias take my breath away.
As a young girl first going to Maui, they smelled, felt and looked both simple and elegant.
My fiance, Joel was extremely okay with what I wanted, but I wanted his input too.
I initially would have chosen the yellow/white plumeria,
but felt it should represent the both of us, so we settled on the blue plumeria.
Thanks Kelly for sharing your experiences and tips for your destination wedding!
From all of us here at Designs by Lenila, we wish you a lifetime of friendship, laughter and love.
Aloha Nui Loa,
Michele
